Miss Temmy

Violin, saxophone, voice, and piano

Teaches Saturday mornings/midday.

​

Miss Temmy is a music educator who has extensive experience helping learners of all ages and levels achieve their musical goals. She earned a diploma in Music Education (2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (2015), both from the University of Nigeria. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Open University of Nigeria. She is currently pursuing graduate studies in music therapy at Duquesne University.

 

Miss Temmy strongly advocates that music is not just an  art but a fundamental means of communication and self-expression. Her hobbies include adventuring and cooking!

Teaches Wednesday afternoons.​

Dr. Maeve Berry currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA as a pianist and vocal coach prior to her recent completion of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music. Dr. Berry is the inaugural Resident Artist Pianist at the Pittsburgh Opera, where she serves as a coach and pianist for rehearsals and productions. As a recitalist, Maeve has appeared at various summer festivals including Songfest, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Source Song Festival, Cincinnati Song Initiative’s Fellowship of the Song, and the Franz Schubert Institut.

 

A lover of song, Dr. Berry takes pleasure in building song recitals as well as exploring the sounds and prose of many diverse languages.

Mr. Alexander

Voice, piano, guitar, electronic composition, music theory

Teaches Sunday midday and Thursday afternoons/evenings.

Mr. Alexander is a passionate teacher and performer who believes music education should be creative, joyful, and meaningful.  He meets each student where they are—helping them grow, explore, and make real music in the moment.

Coming from a family of music educators and musicians, Mr. Alexander holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Rice University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia.  He was a proud member of the Houston Grand Opera chorus for 12 years and has performed in professional opera productions such as Madame Butterfly, Sweeney Todd, La bohème, Don Giovanni, and il trovatore.

His hobbies include board games, electronic music production, and being a dad!

Miss Shannon​

Violin, Viola, and Yoga (classes and private sessions)

Administrative Assistant

Teaches Monday-Wednesday afternoons.

Miss Shannon is an active performer and educator with a focus on accessibility in the musical world. After earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, she worked in nonprofits as a violin and viola teacher and became the Educational Director of the Cincinnati String Project. In 2022, she became a yoga instructor (CYT-300) and found a passion for helping musicians find comfort in their musical and daily lives. She has a holistic approach to learning an instrument that is based on open communication, tuning into your body, and having fun!

 

Miss Shannon also performs with orchestras including Columbus Symphony, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and Dayton Philharmonic. When she is not involved in music, she loves playing with her three cats and making pottery.

Mr. Taylor​

Brass (trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba)

Teaches Monday afternoons/evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Mr. Taylor is a trombonist and brass educator who actively performs throughout the region. He holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Winthrop University, South Carolina. Currently pursuing graduate studies in trombone performance at Carnegie Mellon University, he regularly performs solo recitals across his home state of South Carolina.

 

Mr. Taylor is passionate about music and the art of performance. Outside of music, Mr. Taylor enjoys training and participating in marathons.

Miss Noelle​

Strings (violin, viola, cello, guitar, ukulele), voice, percussion, and piano

Teaches Sunday all day, Monday mornings, and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.

Miss Noelle has been playing violin and piano for over 15 years in addition to her experience with voice, guitar, percussion, and other stringed instruments (cello, viola, and bass). She studied music education at Duquesne University for a year and is currently studying early childhood education.

 

She is passionate about a wide variety of genres and styles of music. In her free time, Miss Noelle enjoys, running, reading, practicing Spanish, and collecting vinyl records.

Miss Emma​

Piano

Teaches Sunday mornings.

Miss Emma is a junior at Duquesne University studying music education. She has a passion for working with children, young people with disabilities, and believes inclusion is a fundamental part of music education. Her teaching experience includes teaching Pre-K music at The YMCA Child Development Center at Duquesne University, and assistant teaching Pittsburgh Youth Choir’s inclusive group, Cantate Choir. Miss Emma has played piano since the third grade, clarinet since fourth grade, and was active in band and choir all throughout middle and high school.

 

Some of her musical accomplishments include chairing first on E flat clarinet in the 2021 PMEA All State Band and marching in the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Miss Brooke (M.M.E.) - Studio Owner

Early childhood, piano, wind instruments, composition, music theory

Teaches Monday-Wednesday afternoons and Thursday all day.

Miss Brooke graduated from Penn State University with honors in Music Education and a minor in Special Education. After graduating, she taught K-6 General Music and Choir at the Greater Latrobe School District for 3 years, and 6th Grade Band, Choir, and Orchestra and Baldwin Whitehall School District. She also has a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Florida. She believes that every human is musical, and every human deserves to explore their creative potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. In her free time, she enjoys training our studio's music therapy dog, Jorbi, and loves doing Crossfit workouts!

Jorbi - Music Therapy Dog In Training

Jorbi was adopted from the Sanctuary at Haafsville (Allentown, Pennsylvania) in September of 2023. He has been diligently training and working on his calm greetings, comforting skills, and basic commands. He observes our lessons and classes and will take his therapy dog test next year. He loves egg shakers, string cheese, and meeting new friends. He is passionate about his job and is eager to help as many musicians as possible.
