Part-Time Private Lesson Teacher​

Strings, voice, and/or guitar

 

​Pittsburgh Music House is seeking a music educator for a part-time private teaching position. 

​

Candidates should be able to teach one or more of the following areas: strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), voice, and/or guitar. Candidates should have piano proficiency.​

​

Candidates should be available to teach on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Available hours are 8:30am-4pm. We are looking for someone who will be able to provide consistency for our weekend students.

​​

We’re looking for a playful and friendly music educator who is comfortable planning and adapting engaging lessons for a wide variety of students. Our private lesson students range in age from 3 to 99 and bring a wide variety of musical interests, goals, and learning styles. Teachers at Pittsburgh Music House tailor lessons to each student's unique needs and aspirations. Therefore, candidates should be comfortable arranging music for students (we allow students to make song requests) and teaching in a variety of genres.

On-Call Substitute Music Teachers (currently closed)​

Pittsburgh Music House is building a team of on-call substitute music teachers to support our private lesson and early childhood group classes when regular instructors are unavailable due to illness or vacation.

​

We are currently seeking substitute teachers in the following areas:

  • Piano

  • Guitar

  • Voice

  • Percussion

  • Brass (Trombone, Trumpet)

  • Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello)

  • Woodwinds (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe)

  • Early Childhood Group Classes (ages 18 months–6 years)

 

Pay: $40/teaching hour

Ideal candidates are flexible, reliable, and comfortable stepping into a variety of teaching situations. Experience adapting to different learning styles and needs is a must, as our students range in age from 16 months to 99 years and bring diverse goals and musical interests.
