ABOUT US

Dear future students and families,

We're so glad you're here! My name is Brooke Cichocki, and I am the owner and teacher at Pittsburgh Music House, where we serve over 100 students and families in the North Hills. I am so thrilled to welcome you into our community of music enthusiasts and help you experience the joy that music can bring into your life (and your family's life!). At Pittsburgh Music House, we personalize our students' lessons to make sure that they are getting a musical experience that is completely unique to their learning styles, needs, and goals.

Pittsburgh Music House focuses on helping students achieve musical growth through a flexible, adaptable, and accessible lesson model. We fill in the gaps that many private lesson studios leave by teaching students to play by ear, compose, improvise, and perform music expressively and creatively. We know that not all students learn best from a method book, and every student has unlimited creative potential. We encourage ALL students to seek out music lessons, including students with physical, intellectual, mental, and sensory disabilities.

You're probably wondering how we got here! I graduated from Penn State University with honors in Music Education and a minor in Special Education. After graduating, I taught K-6 General Music and Choir at the Greater Latrobe School District for 3 years, and 6th Grade Band, Choir, and Orchestra and Baldwin Whitehall School District. During my time teaching in public schools, I got to meet so many amazing young musicians who struggled to find fun, engaging, and differentiated private lessons around the community (especially students who required learning adaptations). I set out to meet that need. While I teach full-time at Pittsburgh Music House, I am currently pursuing a Master of Music Education at the University of Florida online, focusing on the creative potential of students in grades K-12.

Pittsburgh Music House opened its doors in July of 2022. We recently hired an administrative assistant to keep communications running smoothly while we manage our busy schedule of students, added two more fantastic private lesson teachers to our team, as well as a music therapy dog in-training.

Every human is musical, and every human deserves to explore their creative potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. Students and families, we cannot wait to meet you and start your personalized musical journey today. See you in the studio!

Joyfully,

Miss Brooke
